SMS consent and opt-in

Last updated

How people agree to receive text messages sent through O3Notify, what they receive, and how to get help or stop at any time.

1. Who sends these messages

O3Notify is a messaging service operated by Executable Technologies Inc. Businesses use it to send transactional text messages to their own customers: one-time passcodes and account notifications. Each message names the business that sent it.

O3Notify does not send marketing or promotional texts, and does not buy, rent or share phone number lists.

2. How recipients opt in

Recipients opt in on the website or app of the business they deal with, at the moment they create an account, turn on two-step sign-in, or start a transaction such as an order or a booking. They enter their mobile number and check a consent box next to the wording below.

  • The box starts unchecked. Consent is never pre-selected.
  • Consent to texts is separate from accepting any other terms, and is not a condition of purchase.
  • The business keeps a record of each consent: the number, the time, and the wording shown.
  • Every business on the service must collect consent this way before it sends a message (Terms of Use, Recipient consent).

The example below shows the opt-in point as it appears on a sign-up form, using a fictional business called Acme.

4. What recipients receive

Message frequency varies with the recipient's own activity, for example one code each time they sign in. Msg & data rates may apply. Typical messages:

  • Acme: Your verification code is 482913. It expires in 10 minutes. Do not share it. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Acme: Your password was changed on Oct 13. If this wasn't you, contact support at acme.com/help. Reply STOP to opt out.
  • Acme: Your order 1042 has shipped and arrives Thursday. Reply STOP to opt out.

5. Getting help or stopping messages

Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT) to stop receiving texts from that number. One confirmation is sent and nothing further. Reply START to resubscribe.

Reply HELP at any time to receive this message:

O3Notify: you're receiving account alerts and verification codes from a business you signed up with. Help: info@exeapps.com or notify.exeapps.io/sms-consent. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

You can also email info@exeapps.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

6. Privacy

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. A number is passed only to the carrier that delivers the message. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use linked below give the full detail.
